Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle (STAN) believe hands on, immersive educational experiences enable children to learn about, develop an interest in, and truly understand topics. We have been putting this into practice, delivering high quality, engaging and informative education programmes with excellent outcomes, for more than two decades.
“Staff are absolutely fantastic, every event we’ve attended has felt super personal”.
Our dedicated staff and volunteers are what make West Boldon Lodge so special and keep people coming back again and again. We couldn’t mention every one of our wonderful volunteers, but here’s the main team behind the activities you see at West Boldon Lodge.
Tom, Education Programme Lead
Tom is happiest in nature and loves getting others outdoors too. A committed climate activist, he came to West Boldon Lodge from an environmental background – originally volunteering with Groundwork in Leeds where he studied BSc Environmental Science. Tom is obsessed with his pet chickens and thinks an ideal weekend is spent camping in the woods and whittling spoons around a campfire with friends.
Leanne, Receptionist & Administrator
Leanne comes with a wealth of administration and business support experience and is keen to provide a warm welcome and exceptional customer experiences. She has worked in not for profits for many years and shares the Groundwork ethos of ensuring communities get the best out of their environments. A dedicated Mam she loves nothing more than spending time with her daughter or enjoying her other passion for music or being able to spend time with her friends.
